New Toy
I got a new phone last week, a Sony Ericsson K750i. I thought maybe it was time to stop using smartphones for a while and go back to a featurephone. I've been really impressed with the UI on the phone, and for mass-market I really like it a lot better than Nokia's Series 40. The only issue thus far has been finding non-game Java applications, but I've found 2 winners in Opera Mini and WorldMate.
Anyhow, I'll put up some further thoughts on it after I've used it some more. But in the meantime, feel free to share any tips, tricks or cool programs in the comments.

Hi Carlo, I did something just like this last year, when I switched to a SE v800i (the added incentive for me was that it was the first 3G phone I actually wanted). I've been pretty happy with it, and haven't missed much of the smartphone functionality..
Some of the Java apps I've found indispensable (or at least useful):
- ReqWireless' EmailViewer (not sure what happened to them, their site appears to be missing content), one of the only email programs I found that supports html emails
- FreeNews RSS reader (http://www.freerangeinc.com ), of course you know about that one :-)
- IM+ (http://www.shapeservices.com/eng/im/implus.php), multi-protocol instant messenger
- MidpSSH (http://www.xk72.com/midpssh/) if you're geeky enough to require ssh access to your linux box from your mobile..
Thanks for the pointer to WorldMate - looks very useful, but unfortunately they don't explicitly support the SE v800i, and don't seem to offer a trial version to let me find out..

I have had a K750i for about 10 days and took a cool picture of a squirrel in Victoria Park, London. The camera is just tooooo good. Plus the MP3 player is rocking my tube journeys too.

Hi Carlo,
Have to say that my highlight from the SmartPhone show was that I managed to get Opera Mini on my K600i.
This is the first 3G handset from SonyEricsson that others see and say that they want one. In the past few weeks have meet with a few who have upgraded to the K600i from a P900/P910.
Camera works well, all I need is to get Cognima to launch there MoBlog ap so that I can post photos from the phone.
The email ap works well, it allows me to keep a watch on emails when away from my laptop without having a blackberry!
